THE PROBLEM THAT NEEDED SOLVING
Coding agents need more than a model and a prompt. They need repository context, controlled access to tools, execution limits, persistent state, and a way to verify whether their changes actually work.
WHAT WAS ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTED
Built Forge as a runtime underneath coding agents. The execution loop connects task context, model decisions, filesystem/shell/git/test tools, code changes, verification, and persistent trajectories while enforcing workspace and command policies.
The runtime enforces command timeouts and iteration limits, persists each run under a reproducible run directory, and keeps a trajectory of agent actions and results. Cloud foundations include GitHub OAuth, GitHub App installation support, Neon/Postgres persistence, repository discovery, and per-task Git workspaces.
